Star Welfare Organization(Punjab)
Introduction
Star Welfare Organization is a non-profit, non-governmental and non-political organization established in 2006 under registration # 2006-66 from Social Welfare Department Sargodha and recently after the nature of SWO’s works Social Welfare Department allowed SWO to work in all over Punjab.
The organization is concerned with matters relating to violence against women, women rights, women development, police torture, children education and community development. The all running programs of the Star Welfare Organization are self supported.
MISSION:
SWO’s current mission is to enhance organizational effectiveness and improve systems that promote gender sensitive participatory approaches to sustainable social and economic development committed for the advancement of equal rights for women through legal aid, advocacy and service delivery. To identify with and work along the economically and socially deprived, the physically and mentally tortured - starting with women, so that they become educated, skilled and aware.
Enable them to be self-reliant and enjoy a healthy, dignified and sustainable quality of life .And to that end, act as a resource to and collaborate with other agencies - governmental or non-governmental, as well as suitably intervene in policy formulation.

A society based on legitimate rights, equity, justice, honesty, social sensitivity and a culture of service in which all are self-reliant.
SWO is committed for the advancement of equal rights through legal aid, advocacy and service delivery.
Objectives
· Provide legal and paralegal aid, shelter and medical facilities to the women whom subjected to violence
· Reduce violence against women and through education, advocacy, capacity building, awareness raising, and service delivery at all levels of society
· Bring about positive and lasting change in the society by provisions of services that promote economic, social and cultural empowerment.
· Provide Education to the poor, needy and orphan children through curriculum and extra curriculum activities
· Advocacy and awareness raising on women rights and against the other tribulations prevails in the society

Gender Equality
Gender Equality is the core value of the Star Welfare Organization. SWO believe the all human beings are born fee and equal. SWO ensuring and developing the culture of equality where women should treaded without any discrimination and maintaining the equally opportunities for the women.

Each person is treated with respect and dignity in all situations; human beings in every condition have equal rights, importance and respect. Fostering the culture of respect the Universal Declaration of Human Rights is the guiding document.

Programs Hawa Shelter Home
The Hawa Shelter Home is the mega project of Star Welfare Organization. The Shelter Home provides emergency shelter, medical, legal and paralegal aid, psychological counseling and rehabilitation services to the victimized women and their children.
The Home educates the victimized women about their rights and provides skill trainings on stitching, cooking, beauty parlor and computer. The working opportunities are also provided to the skillful women after the training.
Presently Grooming School.
The organization is running an English Medium School named Presently Grooming School. for poor, orphan and needy children (male and female). The school is provides free education, residence, uniform, books, food, medical and pick & drop facilities to the children. The financial support also provides to students for higher education.
Sports Club
The organization also focused on the extra curriculum activities; therefore a Sports Club was established for the Children. The physical instructor assists the children during different games. Moreover the club arranges different kinds of in and out door sports events.
Dispensary
A Dispensary is running to provide free medical facilities and health counseling to the poor and needy people. The organization has a Doctor, Lady Doctor, Nurses and other medical staff on the Medical Panel.
Star Welfare Forum
The organization has initiated a Forum named Star Welfare Forum. The survivors of violence use this forum to raise their voice for justice.
For advocacy and awareness raising the organizations also organizes seminars, workshops and meetings on women rights, child rights and other social issues
