Statement of Manahil Sultana
My name is Manahil Sultana, daughter of Muhammad Sultan, and I am a resident of Gulberg City, Block 2, Sargodha. I am 16 years old and currently studying in middle school. I have a total of six siblings, including myself.
Rehman Ali is around 10 years old and studies in the fourth grade.
Haider Ali is 12 years old and studies in the second grade.
Haram Fatima is 8 years old.
Anaya Fatima is 6 years old.
Harameen Fatima is 3 years old.
My mother’s name is Noorin Bibi, and my father works as a cook.
My family members were blackmailing me and trying to force me into marriage with a boy named Azeem, who is only 12 years old. On May 10, 2024, I left home and went to a hotel. Later, Awan Miraj took me to Jauhar Colony, where I was forced to marry Azeem. After the so-called marriage, we returned home, but frequent fights began within the family.
On June 27, 2024, my uncle, Abu Imran, called my aunt and threatened her, saying, “Send Manahil away, or we will kill her.” My aunt informed me about the threat. I then used my aunt’s phone to call the police. The police arrived within 10 minutes, took all the details, and contacted a senior officer. He instructed them to take me to the police station.
I was taken to the City Police Station, where I provided a full statement. Afterward, the police took me to the Star Welfare Organization's Hawa Shelter Home for my protection.
