# Terms and Conditions
Effective date: 10-29-2011
These Terms and Conditions govern use of https://www.starwelfare.org, operated by Star Welfare Organization ("SWO", "we", "our", or "us"), and donations or submissions made through
the channels described on the website.
By using the website, you agree to these terms to the extent applicable to your use. If you disagree, please stop using the website. Specific welfare services, placements, volunteer
roles, or campaigns may require separate arrangements, which will be explained before participation.
## 1. Purpose of the website
The website provides information about our charitable work, welfare programmes, appeals, events, and ways to support or contact us. We aim to keep information accurate but programme
details, availability, and funding needs may change.
Website information is general information and does not replace professional medical, legal, or other individualized advice. Online forms and messages are not guaranteed
emergency-response channels. In an immediate emergency, contact the appropriate local emergency service.
## 2. Responsible use and accounts
Provide accurate information and use the website lawfully. Keep your login credentials private and notify us if you suspect unauthorized account use.
You must not impersonate another person; submit fraudulent appeals or donation claims; upload malicious software; attempt unauthorized access; harass or threaten others; publish
confidential information without authority; or misuse information about beneficiaries.
Anyone making a payment or entering an agreement must have the necessary legal capacity and authorization. A person who lacks that capacity should act through an appropriate authorized
adult or representative. This does not prevent a child or vulnerable person from seeking help through an appropriate safeguarding channel.
We may restrict an account or remove material reasonably believed to violate these terms, threaten safety, or breach the law. Website restrictions do not by themselves determine a person's
eligibility for welfare support.
## 3. Donations and accepted purposes
Donations must be voluntary and made using funds and payment methods you are authorized to use. Use the official channels listed on our website and verify payment details directly with us
if you receive a conflicting request.
General donations support our charitable activities and the reasonable costs of delivering and administering them. If you wish to restrict a donation to a specific purpose, confirm that
we can accept that restriction before payment.
For Zakat, Sadaqah, Fitrana, or another purpose-specific contribution, clearly identify its intended category and contact us before donating if you need confirmation of eligibility,
timing, distribution, or administrative treatment. We will not treat an accepted restricted contribution as unrestricted simply because the original purpose becomes difficult to fulfil.
If a purpose cannot be met or an appeal is overfunded, we will seek donor instructions where practicable or handle the funds as permitted by applicable law and the accepted donation conditions.
We may decline or return a donation where accepting it would be unlawful, unsafe, inconsistent with our charitable purposes, or subject to conditions we cannot meet.
## 4. Payment confirmations, fees, and tax treatment
A submitted payment instruction is not confirmation that cleared funds have reached us. Retain your transaction reference and contact us if you need an acknowledgement or help tracing a donation.
Banks and payment providers may apply their own charges, conversion rates, or processing times. We do not promise tax deductibility in Pakistan or another country. Any tax treatment depends on
applicable rules and your circumstances; a donation acknowledgement is not a guarantee of tax relief.
## 5. Donation errors and refund requests
If a payment was duplicated, made in error, or was unauthorized, contact info@starwelfare.org as soon as possible with the payment date, amount, reference, and reason for your request.
Do not send passwords, PINs, or full card details. For suspected unauthorized payments, also notify your payment provider promptly.
We will investigate and explain the outcome. Any refund depends on the facts, applicable law, and the payment provider's process. Where a refund is approved, we normally return it through
the original payment method after appropriate verification. These terms do not exclude any mandatory refund, dispute, or payment rights.
## 6. Requests for assistance and volunteer applications
Submitting a form, account registration, or referral does not guarantee admission, financial help, treatment, placement, or another service. Support depends on an assessment of needs,
safeguarding considerations, available resources, and programme criteria.
Volunteer applications may require interviews, references, training, or appropriate screening. Applying does not create employment or authorization to represent SWO, collect donations,
or access beneficiary information.
## 7. Submissions, confidentiality, and safeguarding
Only provide material that you are entitled to share. You remain responsible for the accuracy of the information you submit and should distinguish confirmed facts from concerns or allegations.
Providing information for an enquiry, complaint, or assistance request allows us to use it for that purpose as described in our Privacy Policy. It does not grant unrestricted permission
to publish it. Public use of a testimonial, image, or personal story requires a separate appropriate permission and safeguarding process.
Do not copy or reuse beneficiary photographs, publish shelter residents' whereabouts, contact vulnerable individuals using information from the website, or independently redistribute
missing-person notices in a way that could put someone at risk. Requests to locate or reunite with a person must be verified; sharing contact details or a location is not automatic.
## 8. Website content and intellectual property
Website text, logos, photographs, and other material belong to SWO or their respective owners, except where otherwise stated. You may link to our public pages and share official campaign
links without implying an endorsement or partnership.
Obtain permission before reproducing protected content, using our logo for fundraising, or suggesting that you act on our behalf. Any permission to use content remains subject to the
privacy and safety of the people depicted.
## 9. Third-party services and availability
Links to external websites and payment services are provided for convenience. Those services are governed by their own terms. We do not control their availability or content, and a link
does not necessarily indicate endorsement.
We may update or temporarily suspend website features for maintenance or security. We cannot guarantee uninterrupted access or that all content will be free from errors.
## 10. Responsibility and liability
Each party remains responsible for its acts and omissions under applicable law. To the extent the law permits, SWO is not responsible for losses arising solely from third-party service
failures, unauthorized misuse beyond our reasonable control, or reliance on general website information where individualized advice was needed.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, excuses fraud or unlawful conduct, or removes mandatory rights or safeguarding obligations.
## 11. Complaints, governing law, and changes
Please first contact us with concerns so that we can investigate and seek a fair resolution. These terms are governed by the applicable laws of Pakistan. Disputes may be referred to a
court with lawful jurisdiction, without limiting any mandatory rights or remedies that apply.
Changes will be published with a revised effective date. Material changes will receive additional notice where appropriate. Updated terms will not retrospectively change an accepted
donation restriction or remove rights that have already arisen.

# Publication checklist — internal use only
1. Confirm the exact registered operator name and contact details. Add registration details only after checking the organization's records.
2. Replace effective-date and bracketed fields. Obtain local legal review of the final policies and actual operational arrangements.
3. Audit forms, account data, server logs, cookies, analytics, embedded content, hosting, payment services, access controls, and international processing. Remove any processing description that does not apply and add missing actual uses. Verify the proposed no-sale and security statements.

as future uploads.
