Anam Bibi Case

My name is Anam Bibi. My husband’s name is Faryad Masih, and my father's name is Akbar Jaan. I live in Chak No. 45 NB, Tehsil Khushab. I am 26 years old and studied till primary level. I got married to Faryad Masih (son of Nawab Masih) in 2013. We have two children – a son named Shiva Faryad, 9 years old, studying in class 2, and a daughter named Ali shba Faryad, 5 years old, in prep class. For the last two years, there had been constant fights at home, and my husband started abusing me. He used to beat me because of my sister Sonia Latif, with whom he was in contact through mobile and used to meet regularly. Besides her, he was also involved with other women. When I caught him red-handed, the violence increased. Once, he tried to kill me, but my mother-in-law and brother-in-law saved my life. Another time, he tried to attack me with a sickle, but neighbors rescued me. Fearing for my life, I left home and went to my uncle Mukhtar’s house in Chak 14. I spent the night there and later went to Dar-ul-Islam Chowk to register a report. Then I returned to my in-laws' home while my husband was at work.Later, my husband started harassing me through his nephew. When I complained, he scolded me instead because they were working together. My mother was also supporting him secretly because she used to take money from him and would stay silent no matter what he did to me.Tired of everything, I went to my aunt’s house in Khushab and filed a case in court on 15 February 2025 because the police had taken no action on my previous report. During the court case, a settlement happened twice, and the case was dropped both times. After that, my husband left me at my paternal aunt Nasreen’s house in Sargodha, saying he was getting transferred to Karachi and would take me with him later. He asked her to keep me for three months but didn’t provide any support during that time. When he returned after three months, he argued and took the children away from me, even though he had promised the court to keep me with him.I called the police at 15, but by the time they arrived, he had already beaten me and left with the children. I then filed a report at Factory Area Police Station on 4 July 2025, and they asked me to return home. However, he and his nephew Faisal kept following and harassing me.One day, he made a false call to 15, saying I was running away with someone named Nadeem. Though Nadeem escaped, my husband caught me and shortly after the police arrived. They offered to drop me home, but I refused and asked them to take me to a shelter home. So the Factory Area police brought me to the Star Welfare Organization Hawa Shelter Home, where I now feel safe.I’ve also filed for khula (separation) since 30 June 2025 and now want to get my children back through court. I have no supportive relatives, as everyone is greedy. If I die while staying at the shelter, I request the organization to bury me as an unclaimed body.
