Star Welfare Organization Continues Its Mission of Women’s Welfare Under Clause No. (2) of Its Constitution
On October 1, 2026, Arisha Nawaz, daughter of Ahmed Nawaz, a resident of Tehsil Shahpur, Sargodha, came to Star Welfare Organization and stated that she is an adult and is 23 years old.
She explained that she wishes to marry a person of her own choice, but her parents and brother do not agree with her decision. She stated that choosing a spouse of her own choice is her right and, therefore, she wishes to stay at Star Welfare Organization until her parents agree to her preferred marriage.

Arisha, who wished to marry someone of her own choice, had left her home and come to Star Welfare Organization. Arisha’s maternal aunt, Tasawwur Batool, and her biological brother, Umair Nawaz, son of Nawaz, came to the organization and met with Arisha.
During the meeting, her maternal aunt and biological brother assured Arisha that they would arrange her marriage with the person of her choice within 10 days and would also arrange her departure to her marital home within six months. They further assured her that dowry items would be provided and that she would also be given her share of the family property. They promised that she would not be taunted, harassed, or subjected to any kind of torture.
Therefore, they requested Arisha to return home with them. A family agreement was mutually reached between both parties, and Arisha left with them of her own free will and with her consent and happiness.
